Posted on May 29th, 2012 No Comments

A Princeton, Indiana man is recovering at the University of Louisville Hospital after his left leg was amputated at the knee following a mining accident last week. The 34 year-old was injured after he became pinned between a machine and hauling vehicle

According to the Princeton Daily Clarion, the man is walking around with the aid of a walker and has made outstanding progress. More surgeries may be needed, but if all goes well he is expected to come home this week.

Officials shut down part of the mine where the accident occurred, but it has since reopened. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
