Apartment complex fire injures woman

A woman suffered minor injuries in a fire in an apartment complex at 1800 block of Appleton Lane, early Monday morning.

Reports stated that the fire broke out at a Shively apartment complex around 1 a.m. A woman dropped a pan on the floor when trying to put food that had caught on fire out. The fire then spread rapidly, according to responding firefighters. The woman was rushed to the hospital after she suffered smoke inhalation and burns on her hands, all considered to be minor injuries. No other people were reported injured after the fire in the apartment complex was put out by firefighters.
