Woman sues dentist for dropping tool down her throat

Posted on May 1st, 2012 No Comments

A Kentucky woman has filed a lawsuit against a Lexington dentist after she says he dropped a small screwdriver down her throat. The 71 year-old patient claims she was told by the dentist to try to regurgitate the tool.

After that failed, the dentist took her in for X-Rays, which showed that the small screwdriver had traveled down to her digestive tract. According to the lawsuit, he then discharged her and suggested she eat a high fiber diet.

A month later, the elderly woman was admitted to the hospital after she complained of severe abdominal pain. She was forced to have the screwdriver surgically removed.
